Mechanisms

Anti-Inflammatory

Perluxan positively affects a constellation of pro-inflammatory markers of both enzymatic and non-enzymatic origin:

Bone Loss Inhibition

Perluxan is not just a pain reliever, but may be the first broad spectrum nutraceutical for bone integrity and joint and muscle health. Perluxan helps to inhibit bone resorption by positively affecting metabolism in bone cells, thereby slowing potential impairment to the joints and cartilage.

The bone loss inhibitory effect of Perluxan is the subject of a published research study and two issued patents.

Antioxidant

The alpha acids in Perluxan are potent antioxidants and are effective at both scavenging free radicals and inhibiting the chemical processes that cause oxidation. Extensive laboratory tests have shown that Perluxan consistently exhibits low IC50 values for both Random Scavenging Activity (RSA) and Lipid Peroxidation Inhibiting Activity (LIA), with a strong effect upon copper induced oxidation in LDL.

Recent research has demonstrated that up to 40% of pain-causing biochemicals (e.g. PGE2) in the body come from a non-enzymatic pathway related to free radicals; it is now considered that a viable therapeutic anti-inflammatory agent should also have antioxidative activity.
